Steven & Francesca - Pre Wedding in Southport

Sand everywhere! That's how I felt when I got home after making these pre-wedding photos with Steven and Francesca just a few weeks before their wedding day.

We headed out on a glorious summers evening to the beach to make the most of the weather and it certainly didn't disappoint. We left the crowded areas behind and hiked amongst the dunes, taking images as we went. We even managed to stop at a corn field on the drive home to get the last of the golden light as the sun went down. A pretty perfect end to a great evening.

Sam & Izzy - London Rowing Club Wedding

A beautiful summers day on the banks of the Thames set the backdrop for Sam & Izzy's beautiful wedding at London Rowing Club in Putney. From our initial Skype meeting I had a feeling that this would be a great wedding to be a part of and I wasn't wrong.

For me personally, this was a special wedding as this was my first one to be captured entirely on film.

Shot on a mixture of Kodak Portra 400, 800 and Ilford HP5 and Delta 3200.

Andy & Kara - Snowdonia Engagement on Film

After booking me for their wedding next September, Andy & Kara also asked about doing an engagement shoot close to their new home in North Wales. I crossed the border on the evening of a sunny, Wednesday afternoon and was taken to a little place Kara had in mind for us to hang out and make photos.

We drove through a winding, single track road that took us up and down and around the hillside of Snowdonia National Park, before the trees cleared to reveal a beautiful lake, nestled away in the hills.

We had so much fun walking round the lake and making photos in the last of the evening light. Thank you both so much for being awesome and showing me this amazing place!

Brett & Cara - Eaves Hall Wedding on Film

The day before Bank Holiday Monday, I received a text from my friend and fellow wedding photographer, Jack.

His wife, and usual second shooter for his weddings was unwell and he wanted to know if I was free the following day to help him photograph Brett and Cara's wedding at Eaves Hall, Clitheroe. Of course, I said yes, and as well as second shooting digitally for Jack, I was also able to break out the Contax 645 and shoot a couple rolls of film.

Integrating film into weddings is something I am doing more and more, as well as shooting all my personal photography projects and travels with film. There's just something about that look that I love! The grain, the tones, the colours. It's just so beautiful, much like these two amazing people. So here are a selection of my favourite analogue photos from the day.

Film used was Ilford HP5 and Kodak Portra 400 in the Contax along side Kodak T-Max 400 in the Nikon F100.
